SEMI-AUTO MILITARY RIFLE. Cal. 30-06. S# 662544. Bbl. 24". Barrel markings on the right side include "SA 10-65" plus a Defense Acceptance stamp. Throat gauges are 1.0. Muzzle gauges are 1.0. All visible part markings are "SA." #T105E1 aperture rear sight. Blade front sight with protective ears. The receiver is marked in electropencil on the forward right leg as "SA 11-65." This rifle, which retains a large degree of its original finish, had a replacement barrel installed in 1965. It was originally manufactured in the late summer of 1940. Milled trigger guard. Cross-slot gas cyl. lock screw. Walnut stock set. The buttstock is unmarked and appears to be a replacement, but it has an arsenal-quality finish. Brown leather Hunter military-style sling. CONDITION: stock and handguards have a very good original finish with light wear and scattered small handling marks. Metal has most of its original Parkerized finish except for the gas cyl. which has turned an overall gray. Barrel has a later dark Parkerized finish. Very good, shiny bore with sharp lands.
