RIFLE WITH INTACT MUM. Cal. 7.7 Jap. S# 84184. Bbl. 25 1/2". Blade front sight. Aperture rear sight graduated to 1500m with AA wings. Matching numbers on receiver & bayonet lug. Bolt handle, extractor & safety appear ground off & renumbered to match. Firing pin & dust cover are mismatched. Early "No-series" 99 short rifle made by Nagoya without series marking. Receiver ring has intact mum with Type 99 markings. Blued finish. Asian hardwood stock set with standard T99 sling swivels. Underside of wrist has strong Kanji markings. Cleaning rod present. CONDITION: stock set retains a high degree of Urushi finish with some light chipping, scattered dings, handling marks & other wear. Dust cover appears reblued with pitting beneath surface. Monopod block is a bit bent with tool marks. Balance of metal retains 60% original blue with some flaking on bottom metal, scattered oxidation, edge wear & handling marks.
