SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 7.65mm. S# 643165. Bbl. 3 7/8". Model 3000 semi-automatic pistol mfg. in Spain by Astra during the first year of M3000 production in 1946. Top of the slide is marked with Astra's mfg. information, with the model designation marked on the left. Left side of the frame is marked with a triad of Spanish proofs, with a "P" within a flaming bomb proof marked on the right side of the slide and bbl. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on a few parts, which are polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece Astra Mod. 3000-marked checkered black plastic grips. Half-moon blade front sight with removable U-notch rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, slide, and bbl. MAGS: one 7-rd. CONDITION: metal components retain the vast majority of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting a few areas of light to mild wear and thinning, a few superficial handling marks, as well as a couple of spots of light surface oxidation overall. In-the-white parts show a few spots of light surface-level pitting. Mirror bore, exhibiting well-defined rifling throughout. Grips show some light smoothing, as well as a few scattered superficial marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. Underside of the right grip panel exhibits a few small chips that do not appear to affect serviceability. PROVENANCE: from the lifelong collection of Bill Peterken. (24-6210/MLW). CURIO. $600-1,100.
