PISTOL. Cal. 9x19mm. S# 5959y. Bbl. 4 7/8". Standard configuration P.38 semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Spreewerke during World War II. Left side of the slide is marked "P.38", followed by Spreewerke's mfg. code "cyq", and the S#, with Spreewerke Eagle/88 proofs and an eagle firing proof marked on the right. Metal components exhibit a salt blue finish overall. Frame is mounted with 2-piece grooved dark brown pressed resin grips. Dovetailed blade front sight with U-notch rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, slide, bbl., and locking block. MAGS: 1 8-rd. mag. stamped with a Mauser Eagle/135 proof on the spine. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original arsenal blue finish, exhibiting standard late war machining marks, some light to mild edge wear, as well as a few small spots of wear overall. Front grip strap has faded to a gray patina. Very bright bore, exhibiting consistent light pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics, including the safety / decocking lever. Grips are very good, with some light superficial handling marks overall. (25-4584). CURIO. $1,300-1,800.
