SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 9mm Luger. S# 1819. Bbl. 6". Model 1914 Navy Luger mfg. by DWM for the Imperial German Kriegsmarine in 1916. The bbl. extension is marked "1916" over the chamber, with Imperial naval crown and Crown/M proofs marked on the left. Toggle is marked with the intertwined "DWM" monogram. Left side of the frame and front sight block are marked "1916". Metal components exhibit what appears to be a period reapplied rust blue finish, with some small parts being strawed. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. Blade front sight, with adj. rear sight graduated 100-200. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, takedown lever, sideplate, safety lever & bar, bbl., bbl. extension, trigger bar, breechblock, and toggles. Grips are unnumbered. MAGS: 1 8-rd. naval proofed (S# 2219). CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their period reapplied blue finish, exhibiting some spots of mild wear and thinning, with some scattered spots of mild pitting present overall. Strawed parts retain the majority of their original finish, exhibiting some wear and thinning, with scattered spots of age related discoloration. Mirror bore, exhibiting strong rifling throughout. Grips show some smoothing, as well as a couple of nicks and marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. (24-6757/MLW). CURIO. $2,500-4,000.
