The top of the solid bbl. rib is marked with Smith & Wesson's mfg. and patent information between 2 Maltese crosses. Frame, cyl., and bbl. exhibit a nickel plated finish. Case color hardened hammer, with blued bbl. latch and trigger. Frame is mounted with 2-piece brown "S&W." diamond checkered brown hard rubber grips. Half-moon blade front sight, with notch rear sight. Matching numbers are present on the frame (beneath left grip panel), cyl., as well as the bbl. "3445" is handwritten on the interior of the right grip panel. S# on butt has been obscured by a lanyard loop. Bbl. latch is an unnumbered period replacement. CONDITION: frame, cyl., and bbl. retain the majority of their original factory nickel plated finish, exhibiting some flaking on the bbl. and bbl. rib, with scattered superficial handling marks present overall. Hammer retains traces of its original case color hardening, with the balance exhibiting a gray patina and scattered spots of age related discoloration. Very bright bore, exhibiting light to mild degrees of pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Grips show some mild smoothing, as well as some scattered superficial marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remain very good overall.
