SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 30 Luger. S# 58562. Bbl. 4 3/4". Swiss Model 1929 Luger, mfg. by Waffenfabrik Bern. Toggle is marked with the Swiss Federal cross within a shield. Rear of frame is marked with the Waffenfabrik Bern logo, with a Crown/M (Major Muhlemann) inspection proof stamped on the left, preceding the S#. Interior of frame is date stamped "4.40" (April 1940) in the forward well, with the rear well and the underside of bbl. extension being marked with a rifle below "N", indicating sub-contracted mfg. by SIG Neuhausen. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered mottled brown plastic grips. All serialized components are matching and include the frame, bbl. extension (on lug), bbl., as well as the rear toggle link. MAGS: one 8-rd. with brown plastic bottom. Spine of the magazine is stamped with "MADE IN SWITZERLAND" above a "P". CONDITION: metal components retain bountiful amounts of their original arsenal blue finish, exhibiting some very light edge wear, some very light wear from cycling of the action, as well as a few spots of very light surface oxidation. Brilliant mirror bore, exhibiting well-defined rifling throughout. Grips are excellent overall. A fine example of a 1940 production Swiss Model 1929 Luger. (24-4053/MLW). CURIO. $1,000-1,500.
