RIFLE. Cal. 22 LR. S# 44591B. Bbl. 27 3/4". Model 52B bolt action target rifle mfg. by Winchester in 1939. Left side of the bull bbl. is marked with the Winchester trademark logo between the model and cal. designations, with Winchester's mfg. information marked on the right. Left side of the receiver is marked with the S#, with the Winchester's mfg. information and trademark logo marked on the right. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the bolt body, which is polished in-the-white. 1-piece plain wood pistol grip target stock features a 4" satin chrome hand stop rail and a checkered steel buttplate. Toeline of stock features a blued sling swivel, with the hand stop rail and hand stop featuring satin chrome plated sling swivels. Globe front sight with dovetailed "WIN. 52" marked rear sight mounting base. Rear half of bbl. is drilled and tapped with 2 sight blocks. Trigger is fitted with a brass trigger shoe. Bolt matches the receiver via "44591", which is electro-penciled on the underside of the body. MAGS: x1 5-rd. CONDITION: metal components retain the vast majority of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting some very light edge wear, with patches of wear and thinning fading to gray patina on the bolt knob. Trigger guard shows scattered patches of flaking that has faded to brown patina, with a patch of light pitting. Mirror bore, retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Stock shows scattered superficial marks and small impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remains sound and presents nicely. An attractive 1939 production Winchester Model 52B.
