SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 7.65x21mm Parabellum. S# 6836a. Bbl. 10 1/8". Nicely customized and restored LP.08 Luger semi-automatic pistol, originally mfg. by DWM for the Imperial German military in 1917. The top of the bbl. extension is marked "1917", with DWM arsenal proofs marked on the right. Toggle is marked with the intertwined DWM monogram. Metal components exhibit a reapplied blue finish overall, with some small parts exhibiting a reheated straw finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips, which exhibit Mauser Eagle/655 proofs on the interior of the panels. Custom 10 - 1/8" bbl. is fitted with a ramped Lyman blade front sight (bead is absent). Standard fixed V-notch rear sight. All serialized parts are matching, with many parts appearing to have been renumbered at one time to match. Grips do not match (left panel "78", right panel "76". Hold-open latch is absent. MAGS: 1 8-rd. mag., with wood bottom marked "GERMANY". CONDITION: metal components retain bountiful amounts of their reapplied blue finish overall, exhibiting some scattered spots/areas of light to mild pitting beneath the bluing. Bbl. exhibits some light wear and thinning overall that faintly shows through to gray and brown patinas. Strawed parts are very good, as reheated, showing some light pitting. Bright bore, exhibiting consistent light to mild pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Grips show some smoothing, as well as some scattered superficial marks from handling and storage, with the left panel exhibiting a couple of spots of chipping along the left and upper edges.
