The 25" fine damascus barrels are fitted with flat matted top rib holding one standing leaf wide rear sight and large front sight with flip up white night bead. Bottoms of barrels are fitted with 1992 London re-proofs for 8 bore, 82mm (3-1/4") and 800 BAR. Round bodied Jones under lever action fitted with peninsula back spring locks with rebounding serpentine hammers features long top strap and dolls head rib extension. Action and locks are engraved with small scroll borders. Each lockplate is engraved "Holland & Holland". Trigger guard tang extends to horn grip cap. Pistol grip buttstock of very nicely marbled and lightly figured Circasian walnut measures 14-1/2" over red pad and features shadow line right hand cheekpiece, point pattern checkering, vacant silver oval and sling loop. Matching splinter forend has pivoting lever release. MEASUREMENTS: STOCK: DAH: 2-1/2". DAC: 1-1/2"+. CAST: about 1/2" off. LOP: 14-1/2". WEIGHT: 12 lb. 1 oz. CONDITION: barrels retain most of an old re-brown with fair definition to pattern. Rib has been cleaned to be almost smooth and maker's name is illegible. Old pitting remains. Action and locks are cleaned to bright and have subsequent oxidation to mottled light brown. Stocks show old oil refinish; checkering re-cut. Bright and shiny bores appear to be refreshened at time of re-proof. Action is very tight; locks are good. (01-25459/MGM). ANTIQUE. $8,000-12,000.
