1876 LEVER ACTION SADDLE RING CARBINE. Cal. 45-75. S# 44153. Bbl. 22" rnd. with integral front sight and 200-1000 yard leaf rear sight. Action has saddle ring on left side. Full length band fastened iron tipped forearm. Straight grip walnut stock with steel carbine buttplate. Right side of stock has a banner marked "NWMP". 1,611 mfg. by Winchester for the NWMP between 1878-1885. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Winchester factory letter stating: "Type: Carbine/ Received in warehouse on March 27, 1885/ Shipped from warehouse on March 28, 1885, Order number 19589.". CONDITION: metal has largely faded to gray showing handling marks and spots of light corrosion. Sanded and refinished wood shows scratches, marks, and dents. Sound mechanics. Bore retains strong rifling showing some very light corrosion. PROVENANCE: The Esteemed Norm Greenberg Collection. (01-27698/DS). ANTIQUE. $5,000-8,000.
