GRADE AUTO-LOADING SHOTGUN. Caliber: 20 gauge, 2 3/4". Serial Number: S6370. This impressive example typifies Remington's finest high grade firearms. The receiver presents full coverage vine type foliate scroll hand engraving with punch dot backgrounds as well as leafy borders surrounding the highly detailed scenes. The right side features upland scenes of two woodcock, two pointers and a covey of quail. The left side scenes show two ruffed grouse, two pointing setters and three woodcock. Complimentary engraving extends to the trigger guard and breech end of the 26" solid rib skeet choked barrel. The finger groove forearm and straight grip stock of fancy thin shell walnut feature segmented point-pattern checkering. The toeline of stock has a brass presentation plate with initial "W". Length of Pull: 14 1/4" over the original buttplate. Weight: 6 pounds, 15.8 ounces. CONDITION: action and barrel retain over 95% original blue, showing slight edge and carry wear. Stock and forearm exhibit a fine satin refinish, showing a few small handling marks. The checkering is freshened. Very good bright bore. (25-560/DS). CURIO. $3,500-5,000.
