LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 45-75. S# 5107. Bbl. 28" octagon. Sporting front sight w/ graduated leaf rear sight. Full length mag. Blue finish w/ case colored hammer & lever. Walnut forearm & straight grip stock w/ case colored trapdoor crescent buttplate. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: 4 sections of 5 piece cleaning rod held in stock compartment. Letter from the Cody Firearms Records Office detailing the following information, "Type: Rifle. Barrel Type: Octagon. Trigger: Plain. Received in warehouse on July 25, 1878. Shipped from warehouse on August 03, 1878, Order number 12592". CONDITION: this fine rifle has strikingly beautiful finish that may be an old factory quality refinish. The appearance of this rifle is so good that it has sold in the past as totally original. The receiver even shows a light grain streaking in the metal as expected on older original rifles. Bbl. & action have 97% lightly faded blue showing faint edge wear & light handling marks. Hammer & lever retain over 90% case colors. Wood has a very good apparent older refinish showing scratches & marks. Crisp mechanics. Bore is generally bright w/ strong rifling. (01-24194/DS). ANTIQUE. $15000-20000.
