Both: Cals. 31. Bbls. 6” octagon w/ Hartford addresses & brass cone front sights. Round five shot cyls. w/ stagecoach scene roll engravings. Blue & case colored finishes w/ nickel finish brass backstraps & large round trigger guards. 1 piece walnut stocks. (1) S# 172440. Frame, bbl., cyl., grip straps & wedge have matching numbers. Mfg. 1860. (2) S# 181491. Bbl., frame, grip straps, cyl., loading lever & wedge have matching numbers. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: added 2 gun period style wood casing w/ brass corners. Lid has a brass plate w/ initials “DMB”. Case lid has a full length repaired crack w/ additional repaired crack on the front edge & unrepaired crack on bottom. Red cloth fitted interior showing substantial fading & wear. Case contains pocket size eagle flask, 2 cavity iron mold, 2 Eley cap tins, case key & round balls. Also includes a wrapped five round package of combustible envelope cartridges. CONDITION: (1) very good. Bbl. has 60% blue fading to brown showing edge wear w/ scattered small spots. Cyl has gray coloration indicating touch up finish & retains very good scene. Frame & loading lever have faded gray brown appearance. Grip straps retain 30% silver finish. Grips show wear & handling marks w/ series of dents at butt. Good mechanics. Bore retains good rifling showing spots of pitting. (2) very good. Bbl. & cyl. blue is fading to gray showing small dents around wedge w/ spots of corrosion on cyl. Cyl. has very good scene. Frame retains over 60% case colors. Grip straps have 50% silver finish acquiring a gray tarnish. Grips show light wear & marks. Good action. Cyl. exhibits a small amount of side play. Pitted bore w/ largely intact rifling.
