Civilian model revolvers, both are: cal. 44, Bbls. 8" round w/ German silver blade front sights, New York addresses, round rebated six shot cyls. w/ naval scene rolled engraving, blue & case colored finishes w/ silver finished brass trigger guards & 1 piece walnut grips. (Gun 1) S# 163155. Bbl., frame, grip straps, cyl. & wedge have matching numbers. Mfg. 1867. CONDITION: very fine. Bbl., cyl. & backstrap retain over 50% original blue showing small dents & spots. Cyl. retains very good scene. Frame & hammer retain 50% case colors. Trigger guard shows a small amount of silver finish. Grip has good original finish showing scattered small marks. Sound mechanics. Bore retains strong rifling. (Gun 2) S# 172753. Bbl., frame, grip straps & cyl. have matching numbers. Wedge is numbered 1957. Mfg. 1868. CONDITION: very good. Bbl. has 30% faded blue in protected areas. Right side of bbl. has a series of small dents above wedge. Frame & backstraps have faded to gray. Cyl. retains good scene w/ gray appearance. Brass trigger guard is cleaned bright w/ traces of silver in protected areas. Replacement grips show moderate wear w/ poor fit around top of backstrap & at toe. Cyl. is slightly out of time. Lightly pitted bore retains intact rifling. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: added period style casing w/ brass corners & strapping. Red velour fitted interior. Case contains powder flask, 2 cavity mold, nipple wrench, oil bottle, 1 cap tin, 1 tin containing 4 spare nipples, round balls & bullets. Also included is 1 wrapped six round package of 44-100 combustible envelope cartridges. (01-22830/JB). ANTIQUE. $8,000-12,000.
