Cal. 31. S# 46858, 5” & S# 130048, 6”. This is a nice honest pair of Colt model 1849 pocket revolvers w/ the desirable longer bbls. popular among Civil War soldiers both North & South. Both are in standard configuration w/ 5 shot cylinders w/ rolled “stagecoach holdup” scene, 2-line bracketed New York addresses. CONDITION: both guns are good overall, all matching serial numbers & discernible markings. Both are overall mottled gray patinas w/ staining & pitting, brass cleaned on both guns. Both guns are mechanically functional though both a bit sloppy, bores have good discernible rifling. PROVENANCE: Collection of Roger Ballard. (01-18719; 01-18720/JS). BOTH ANTIQUE. $1,500-2,000.
