Pair of antique percussion and cartridge fire pistols, including: (1) BRITISH PERCUSSION SXS PISTOL. Cal. 40 Smoothbore. NSN. Bbl. 3 1/16". SxS percussion pistol produced by an unknown mfg. Top flats of the octagonal bbls. are marked with a British Crown/V proof. Underside of bbls. and receiver are stamped with an apparent "6" or "9". Metal components exhibit a blue finish. 1-piece sanded and refinished plain wood stock. CONDITION: metal components have primarily faded to a brown patina, exhibiting some scattered spots of light oxidation and pitting. Proper manual mechanics. Grip is good, exhibiting some superficial marks and small impressions from handling and storage. (2) UNKNOWN SINGLE SHOT PISTOL. Cal. 22 RF. NSN. Bbl. 4 5/16". Single shot breechloading pistol of unknown origin. Bottom flat of the octagonal bbl. is marked with an unidentified Crown/GM proof above "1531". Left flat appears to be marked "22". Sides of the frame feature scroll engraving, which extends to the frame tang. 1-piece plain wood stock. CONDITION: metal components have faded to a mottled gray patina, exhibiting scattered spots and patches of darkened mild oxidation and pitting. Top of frame plate is cracked between the breech and hammer. Smoothbore exhibits scattered spots of mild to moderate oxidation and pitting. Proper manual mechanics. Grip shows scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remains sound. (01-29147/MLW). BOTH ANTIQUE. $300-400.
