GAME GUNS WITH CASE. Cal. 12 Ga., 2 3/4" both. S# 279733 (Gun #1) & S# 279734 (Gun #2) (1969). The 25" chopper lump barrels are fitted with raised Churchill ribs gold inlaid "AYA" and "1" or "2" on breech ends. Matching numerals are on top levers and forend latches. Tops of right barrels are marked with maker's name and "MADE IN SPAIN". Barrel flats are stamped with 1969 Spanish nitro proofs for 2 3/4" chambers. Case hardened side lock actions feature automatic safetys, bushed strikers, gold line tumbler end cocking indicators, H&H type hand detachable locks and single selective triggers. Actions and lockplates are engraved with full coverage, hand cut shaded scroll surrounding a vast array of flower blossoms and acanthus which is bound by a ribbon toward top of lockplates. Bottoms of actions are engraved with maker's name on arched ribbon. Blued trigger guards have S#'s on short tangs. Straight grip buttstocks are of European walnut and measure 14 1/4" over checkered wood butts. Wood on gun #1 has some smokey marbling on right side and is rather plain on left. Wood on gun #2 has good stump figure and some marbling. Stocks feature drop points, point pattern checkering and gold ovals engraved "JCR". Matching beavertail ejector forends have Deeley releases. CAST: about 1/2" off. LOP: 14 1/4". WEIGHT: 6 lb. 11 oz. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: guns are housed in their original leather case with stitched leather corners. A brass rectangle on top is engraved "JAMES C. RICKOFF". Interior is lined in green cloth and a black printed foil AYA label is in lid. Case contains a glass oil bottle and a key. Case is fitted with blue canvas outer cover with zippered closure. CONDTION: very fine. Both guns retain nearly all their factory finishes on both wood and metal. Gun #1 has some scuffs on side of left barrel in front of forend with some associated denting evident in bore. There are a good scattering of dents on buttsock of gun #2; otherwise guns are mechanically and cosmetically fine. Case leather is somewhat scuffed and with some marks, scrapes and handle are good, outer cover is good, interior cloth is very good to fine with some rubs through, label shows considerable rubs and marks.
