Cal. 52. NSN. Bbls. 1 3/4". Pair of screw barrel flintlock pistols produced by an unknown mfg. in Belgium. Sides of the frames feature decorative engraving with a dog engraved on either side. Left side of the frames are stamped with an encircled Belgian "E/ LG/ *" proof at the breech areas. Wood stocks feature checkered panels on the left and right sides, with a groove running down the backstraps and on the butts. Stock ears are relief carved with floral motifs. Triggers extend when hammers are cocked. CONDITION: metal components exhibit a dark mottled gray patina, with some scattered spots of dark surface oxidation. Bores show some scattered spots of pitting. Locks hold at half and full cock, and function appropriately when cycled by hand. Stocks show scattered marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. PROVENANCE: Estate Collection of Nicholas Apergis. (01-27508/MLW). BOTH ANTIQUE. $500-800.
