POCKET PISTOLS WITH FOLDING TRIGGERS BY SYKES OF OXFORD. Cal. 45. NSN. The 1 5/8" round bbls. have wrench lugs at bottoms and feather engraving around muzzles. Rounded boxlock actions have reinforced flint cocks, semi waterproof pans and frizzens with external roller springs. Back sliding safeties lock cocks at half cock and frizzens in closed position. Sides of action are engraved with open scroll on left side. 1 pistol has scroll on right side, the other has a coiling sea monster. Areas under pans are engraved "SYKES" on left, and "OXFORD" on right, (James working 1809-17). Actions and bbls. are stamped with Birmingham proofs. Walnut bag grips are near fully checkered and this checkering is extremely closely spaced. There are rectangular silver crest plates at tops. CONDITION: good. Bores are shiny. Mechanically fine.
