REGIMENTAL DRUMS. Measuring 15" high and 14" in diameter, these polychromed brass and wood rope tension snare drums feature the British Royal Coat of Arms, "Honi soit qui mal y pense," which translates to "Shame be it who thinks evil of it," with the motto below that reads, "Dieu et mon droit," which translates to "God and my right." Below the crest is another eagle with outstretched wings and "Per ardua ad astra," which translates to "Through adversity to the stars." Flanking the central crest is "Royal Air Force Band." The blue-trimmed example is stamped "A M / Premier / Made in England / 1941". The red-trimmed example is broad-arrow-proofed and dated 1947. CONDITION: stenciled insignia on the blue-trimmed drum is chipped with about 20% loss, with the other drum still in very good condition. Both drums are sound-solid and playable.
