USING COLT REVOLVER & REVOLVING RIFLE. These prints, which are very rare today, are copies of original 1860 color lithographs. Date of these 20th-century offset lithographs is unknown. The images, in larger frames, measure about 21" x 16". George Catlin (1796–1872) traveled to the west to paint scenes and portraits of Native Americans. These two original paintings, made in the 1830s, feature Paterson colts. The guns have since been upgraded to dragoons and 1855 revolving rifles. CONDITION: one missing glass, with scratches; the other appearing in good overall condition. PROVENANCE: Martin Lane Historic & Western Americana Lifetime Collection. (02-21581/JS). $200-300.
