BY THOMAS RICHARDS CIRCA 1770. Cal. 60. NSN. 10 3/4" Overall. 4 1/2" Steel screw-off 3 stage cannon bbls., dismounting lug on bottom. Bottom of breeches touch marked w/ Queen's head, London proof & "TR" in cartouche. Frames are engraved w/ panoply of arms on the left & engraved on right w/ central panel reading "T RICHARDS". Walnut grips have rococo silver wire & buttcaps are silver grotesque faces. CONDITION: good to very good overall, original & complete. Screw in 1 buttcap appears replaced. Iron is overall dark gray patina w/ pitting. Mechanically fine w/ clear smooth bores. (01-17238/JS). ANTIQUE. $3,000-5,000.
