1) REMINGTON MODEL 24 SEMI-AUTOMATIC TAKEDOWN RIFLE. Cal. 22 S. S# 21343. Bbl. 19 1/4". Model 24 semi-automatic takedown rifle mfg. by Remington Arms Company. Top of the bbl. is marked with the model designation, followed by Remington's mfg. information, with the cal. designation marked on the left and the Remington trademark logo marked on the right. Metal components exhibit a nicely reapplied blue finish overall, save for the bolt assembly, which is polished in-the-white. Plain wood pistol grip buttstock and schnabel tip forend appear to have been lightly sanded and revarnished. Plain steel buttplate has been reblued at one time. Blade front sight with V-notch rear sight. CONDITION: metal components retain bountiful amounts of their reapplied blue finish overall. Bore is bright, as refinished, exhibiting some pitting and a dark ring at approximately the center of the bore, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Wood furniture is very good overall, with the forend exhibiting a crack on the underside that runs from the screw to the rear of the forend, as well as a few chips along the rear edges. (24-3886/MLW). 2) REMINGTON MODEL 24 SEMI-AUTOMATIC TAKEDOWN RIFLE. Cal. 22 LR. S# 64714. Bbl. 19 3/8". Model 24 semi-automatic takedown rifle mfg. by Remington UMC. Top of the bbl. is marked with Remington's mfg. and patent information, followed by the Remington trademark logo, with the cal. designation marked on the left. Left side of the receiver is marked with the model designation above the S#. Metal components exhibit a reapplied blue finish overall. Plain wood pistol grip buttstock and schnabel tip forend have been sanded and revarnished. Blade front sight with U-notch rear sight. CONDITION: metal components retain the vast majority of their reapplied blue finish, exhibiting some scattered handling marks and some scattered spots of oxidation. Receiver exhibits pitting beneath the finish overall. Buttplate retains a gray patina and exhibits some areas of dark oxidation. Bright bore, as refinished, exhibiting some scattered spots of dark pitting, while retaining good rifling throughout. Wood furniture shows scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage. Buttstock exhibits a large crack on the top, left, and bottom sides of the wrist that stem from the receiver. Forend exhibits a small crack on the right, with chipping present along the rear edges.
