Cal. 12 Ga. 2-5/8". S# 115456. The 28-13/16" barrels are marked with the Parker address and "TWIST" on the matted top rib. All correct marks are on barrel flats, including the Remington repair date code "KD" (May 1935 or 1957?). The case-hardened #2 frame with correct makings on the watertable is fitted with non-automatic safety and double triggers. Action is engraved in "P" style with small sprays of scroll within geometric borders. The maker's name is on each side. Parker-capped pistol grip buttstock of plain American walnut measures 14-1/4" over Parker's head buttplate with spur. Standard checkering is at grip, and a German silver shield is on the toeline. The matching splinter end has a patent date on the latch. MEASUREMENTS: Bbls: bore diameter: L .731; R .731. Restriction: L .010 (IC); R .022 (Mod). Wall thickness: L .026; R .022. STOCK: DAH: 3-1/16". DAC: 1-15/16". CAST: neutral. LOP: 14-1/4". WEIGHT: 7 lb. 5 oz. CONDITION: very fine as restored to original factory finishes. Barrels retain over 90% of what certainly appears to be their factory-applied twist finish. Action retains nearly all of the case hardening, the consignor states by Del Grego. Stocks retain nearly all of a light-colored oil refinish (edges are somewhat rounded). Checkering re-cut. Shiny bores show raised dents mostly in the left barrel, 15" behind the muzzle. Action is tight. The Parker ledger indicates that this gun was originally made with 30" barrels. Is the presence of a choke in these barrels an indication of factory work? Rib matting ends correctly at 1/8" behind the muzzle. (23-5432/MGM). CURIO. $2,000-3,000.
