SIDELOCK EJECTOR SINGLE TRIGGER GAME GUN WITH CASE. Cal. 12 Ga. 2-3/4". S# H0409. Top of the Beretta 451 line; this gun has 27-7/8" mono-block barrels fitted with narrow matted game rib. Steel and Beretta info are on top of left barrel. Barrel flats are stamped with 1973 Italian nitro proofs and grade. Coin finished sidelock action features non-automatic safety, bushed strikers and gold plated non-selective single trigger. Action and lockplates are engraved with nearly full coverage of nicely cut and delicately shaded large open scrolling, acanthus with rose bouquet highlights. Maker's name and address are in an arched banner on bottom of action. This well done engraving is signed "Pedersoli" on trigger plate. (The highly regarded Gianfranco who has worked for many best quality makers.) Blued top lever with pierced thumb piece is gold inlaid with a crown. Trigger guard with scroll engraving on bow has S# on tang. Pistol grip buttstock made of a dense piece of fiddle figured and dark streaked European walnut measures 14-3/8" over thin brown Beretta pad. Point pattern checkering is at grip and a gold oval on toeline is engraved with the monogram "AP". Matching beavertail ejector forend has Anson release. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS: Bore Diameter: L .729. R .728. Restriction: L .040 (extra full). R .021 (mod). Wall thickness: L .030. R .032. STOCK: DAH: 1-15/16". DAC: 1-1/4". CAST: about 1/2" off. LOP: 14-3/8". WEIGHT: 7 lb. 4 oz. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: gun is housed in it's original dark brown leather case by Nizzoli, which features stitched leather corners and brass latches. Interior is lined in olive green felt and a brown leather Beretta label is stitched into lid. Bottom compartment is semi-French fitted for barrel and action. A covered compartment contains a key. CONDITION: exceptionally fine. Essentially "as new"; appears unfired. There are a few minor handling and assembly marks on wood and metal most notable are some silver rub marks which are only visible with forend removed. Bores are bright and shiny; mechanically crisp. Case is also very fine with some minor rubs on exterior and some compressions in interior cloth. This attractive gun retails at nearly $20,000. (25-941/MGM). CURIO. $6,500-9,500.
