1819 HALL RIFLE. Standard configuration of Harpers Ferry model 1819 and the North contract 1830-1836. This example is marked on breech: "U.S / S. NORTH / MIDDL'TN / CONN / 1834". This example has the full length 32.5" barrel which was originally 52 caliber rifle and is now smoothbore 58 caliber, possibly Confederate conversion. Rifle still retains its unique combination ramrod bayonet. Madaus & Murphy discuss the many Hall percussion conversions in their monumental 1996 text. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Copy of Murphy & Madaus "Confederate Rifles and Muskets" chapter on Hall Confederate Alterations. CONDITION: very good overall, great metal, appears complete and original, point on original boyonet ramrod bayonet has been resharpened, mechanically fine, clear smooth bore.
