Cal. 70. NSN. Bbl. 38". Third Model Brown Bess converted to percussion & restocked. Lock has British crown "GR" & "TOWER" markings. One of the lock screws is missing. Left side of bbl. has faint British proofs. Replacement hardwood stock with checkered wrist. Stock does not appear to have been cut for buttplate. Iron ramrod secured by brass thimble & two pipes. Brass trigger guard that has been cut for stock, is missing a chip behind trigger & is coming loose. CONDITION: stock shows a large spliced toe repair, a few scattered nail repairs, some chips, scattered handling wear & marks. Brass parts are a dull yellow color with some tarnishing & light dings. Balance of metal is a dull gray patina with overall old oxidation & scattered pitting. Action pushes off when hand cycled & will need attention to function properly. Oxidized smoothbore.
