STOCK, CASED. Cal. 7.63mm. S# 450. Bbl 5 1/2". One of the earliest Conehammers, to have the standard three address on top of the chamber, still with the nonreinforced barrel extension and a stock whose matching serial number was applied to the hinge and lid. This extraordinary example has the usual 5.5" barrel with a fixed front sight and a pinned rear sight numbered "1-10". Long extractor, independently secured firing pin, and earliest safety. Crown/C/U on the left side of the barrel extension. The full serial number is on the frame above the stock slot, repeated under the sight bar and cursor. Disassembly shows an entirely matching gun, with an unnumbered, but inspected locking block. Both grips are fully matching. Lanyard ring is present. Accompanied by a matching shoulder stock with serial number on hinge and on lid under tensioning spring. Lug was not removed. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: ensemble presented in a custom wood case, lid inlaid with a brass plaque marked with intertwined initials, likely "TG", interior green baize lined, French fitted for pistol in stock, putzstock (not included), and two slots for 2 boxes of ammunition (only one sealed box of ammunition included). Key not included. CONDITION: pistol with 99% bright original rust blue, a few speckles of oxidation at the muzzle, some fine dings on the forward magazine well, and the usual stock wear on the backstrap. Highly polished fire blued small parts in the same condition. Varnished grips retaining almost all the finish, the left panel with a noticeable dent at the top. Near mirror bore. Perfect manual mechanics. Excellent shoulder stock retaining most original finish with scattered handling dings. Hinge with noticeable oxidative flaking, no suggestion of touch up. Lug retaining the majority of its original fire blue. Near excellent custom case, interior with staining and minor tears. An extraordinary Mauser C96 by any metric, a rare opportunity to add real gem for your collection! (01-24224/LA). ANTIQUE. $20,000-30,000.
