9.75” x 3”, sinew sewn, full coverage geometric design with navy blue, white-heart red, greasy yellow, & green beads. Pewter mounted hunter/skinner knife 11.5” overall, 8.5” unmarked blade. This knife & sheath from the Floyd Ritter collection is pictured on page 3 of John Baldwin’s 1997 text “EARLY KNIVES & BEADED SCABBARDS OF THE AMERICAN FRONTIER”. CONDITION: good to very good overall, small loss of green beads at throat, and blue beads at edge. PROVENANCE: From the Lifelong Collection of Glen E. Mattox. (02-18346/JS). $600-800.
