Homemade 12.5" butcher knife, unmarked 8" blade, iron riveted oversized wood slab handle. This knife & sheath from the Floyd Ritter collection is pictured on page 3 of John Baldwin's 1997 text "EARLY KNIVES & BEADED SCABBARDS OF THE AMERICAN FRONTIER". CONDITION: good to very good overall, loss of perimeter beads and tinkle cones. PROVENANCE: From the Lifelong Collection of Glen E. Mattox. (02-18345/JS). $600-800.
