KNIFE. 9.5" x 3", sinew sewn, full coverage one side & 40% on other with blue, green, black, red, pink, purple, & orange/brown beads on white ground. Row of tinkle cone embellishments around circumference. Pewter mounted hunter/skinner knife 10.5" overall, 6" blade with indiscernible maker. This knife & sheath from the Floyd Ritter collection is pictured on page 3 of John Baldwin's 1997 text "EARLY KNIVES & BEADED SCABBARDS OF THE AMERICAN FRONTIER". CONDITION: fair to good overall, scattered loss of beads and tinkle cone embellishments. PROVENANCE: From the Lifelong Collection of Glen E. Mattox. (02-18368/JS). $600-800.
