Cal. 5.56mm. S# J00690. Bbl. 11". A Portland, Maine-manufactured Bushmaster pistol. This unique, early Bushmaster version of the Colt Imp pistol swivels in front of the chamber to accommodate left-hand or right-hand shooting. Post front sight remains at 12 o'clock on barrel orientation but swivels several degrees clockwise and counter clockwise, and has a manually adjusted rear notch sight to match. Pistol is held flat to the extended forearm to aim. Top-mounted ejection port with left side charging handle. An elongated, 4", A1-style flash hider. Left-side safety/selector. Matte black finish. Left-side sling swivel with black nylon sling. MAGS: 30 rd., aluminum. CONDITION: finish is complete and consistent, with thinning in areas of mechanical intervention. Bright bore with descent rifling. Fire control mechanism appears to function correctly when cycled by hand. PROVENANCE: from the lifelong collection of Terrence McCarty. (24-557/JZ). MODERN. $500-800.
