PISTOL. Cal. 6.35mm (25 ACP). S# 182222. Bbl. 2". Low profile sights. Blue finish. Left side of slide has FN & Browning patent markings. Left side of slide & frame have Belgian proofs. It is purported that this pistol was a WW2 Pacific theater bringback. It is known that Japanese officers privately purchased a variety of commercial handguns for use in combat. It is quite possible this FN example was Japanese used but there are no markings or provenance to prove conclusively. Checkered rubber grips w/ FN logo. MAGS: 2-6 rd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: unmarked leather holster that appears to be Japanese w/ mag pouch. Holster is in fair condition w/ some staining, crazing & scuffing. The consignor states that the pistol came w/ this holster. CONDITION: grips show some dings & handling marks. Metal retains 90% original blue w/ some fading, a few small spots of oxidation, scattered edge & handling wear. Pitted bore w/ worn rifling. PROVENANCE: The Collection of Curtis H Halvorson. (23-5850/MJC). CURIO. $300-500.
