WOOD DISPLAY CASE. Cal. 9x19mm Parabellum. S# 318234. Bbl. 5". P.38 semi-automatic pistol, mfg. in West Germany by Walther and imported by Interarms in 1969. Left side of the slide is marked with the Walther banner logo, followed by Walther's mfg. information above the model and cal. designations. Right side of the frame is marked with Interarms' importer information. Left side of the frame is marked with the S#, with a "69" date code, Ulm Proof House antler, and Eagle/N commercial nitro proof stamped on the forward trigger web. Aluminum frame exhibits a black anodized finish, with steel components exhibiting a high polish blue finish overall. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered black plastic grips. Matching numbers are present on the frame and bbl. Slide and locking block are unnumbered. MAGS: two 8-rd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: wood display box featuring the Walther banner logo on the exterior of the lid and a blue felt lining on the interior. Case contains one spare earlier production mag. and a cleaning rod. CONDITION: metal components retain bountiful amounts of their original factory finishes overall, with the right side of the slide exhibiting some scattered superficial handling marks. Brilliant mirror bore, exhibiting well-defined rifling throughout. Grips show a few superficial marks from handling and storage but otherwise remain very good overall. Case shows some light exterior wear but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable. (24-1303/MLW). CURIO. $1,000-1,500.
