RIFLE. Cal. 220 Swift. S# 379004. Bbl. 26" Model 70 bolt action rifle mfg. by Winchester in 1956. Left side of the bbl. exhibits standard markings denoting the model and cal. designations. Receiver, bbl., and bolt handle exhibit a bead blasted blue finish, with the bolt shroud exhibiting a polished blue finish. Bolt body is polished in-the-white. 1-piece Monte Carlo checkered wood pistol grip stock with flat checkered steel buttplate and sling swivels. Ramped, hooded, and brass beaded (approx. half of brass bead is absent) blade front sight with slot blank in rear sight dovetail. Receiver is factory drilled and tapped, currently fitted with 2-piece picatinny rails. Bolt matches the receiver via the full S#, which is electro-penciled on the underside of the body. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: receiver plug screws. CONDITION: receiver and bbl. retain the majority of their blue finish, showing some light to mild edge wear. Bolt knob retains a mostly gray patina. Trigger guard and floorplate retain fair amounts of their blue finish, with the balance fading to gray patina and with the floorplate showing consistent light pitting. Mirror bore, retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Stock shows some smoothing to the checkering, as well as scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable. (25-4425/MLW). CURIO. $1,500-2,000.
