Cal. 30-06. S# 237737. Bbl. 24". Model 70 bolt action rifle mfg. by Winchester in 1952. Left side of the bbl. exhibits standard factory markings, denoting Winchester's mfg. information, as well as the model and cal. designations. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the bolt body, which is jeweled, as well as the bolt handle, which is in-the-white. 1-piece checkered wood pistol grip buttstock, with flat checkered steel buttplate. Left side of stock was cut at one time for a receiver mounted iron sight. Ramped aluminum beaded blade front sight. Bbl. rear sight dovetail is fitted with a slot blank. The left side of the receiver is drilled and tapped with an E.C. Herkner Co. Echo scope mount, which is fitted with a Lyman Alaskan All-Weather scope. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting some spots of light wear and thinning, some scattered superficial handling marks, as well as a few spots of light surface oxidation overall. Near mirror bore, exhibiting a few small spots/areas of what appears to be light pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Stock shows scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable. Scope retains a clear and sharp optic. PROVENANCE: Estate of Russell Dickerman. (25-1935/MLW). CURIO. $600-1,000.
