MK1 LMG. Cal. 303. S# X3402. Bbl. 25" with detachable flash hider. Offset sights with protected blade front & adjustable aperture rear. Very good example of the iconic MK1 303 British Bren light machine gun. The name Bren is derived from Brno where the ZB-26 LMG originated from & Enfield the site of the British small arms factory. Bren variants saw widespread usage in many 20th Century conflicts most famously in WW2 & later in Korea, the Malayan Emergency, the Rhodesian Bush War & the Falklands. Registry lists manufacturer as BSA & cal. as 303. Left side of receiver marked "MKI/D/1942". Bbl. latch marked "V7125. Left front of receiver has British proofs, broad arrow, both '42 & '44 date. Bbl. marked with British export ton proofs & "LB58129". Bbl. & bipod have Suncorite black paint finish. Balance of the metal parts have arsenal rework gray parkerized finish. Hardwood buttstock & pistol grip. Right side of butt marked "S.111/(Broad Arrow)". MAGS: 14-30 rd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: mag transit case, one canvas bbl. cover, three spare bbls., spare bolt assembly, spare piston assembly, mag loader, sling, spare mag door cover, Bren tool set that appears to be missing a couple pieces & brass catcher. CONDITION: stock & pistol grip have arsenal rework appearance with armorer reinforcement repair on top & bottom of butt, scattered light dings & handling marks. Hardwood carry handle shows a couple small cracks, some black staining, dings & handling marks. Bbl. & bipod retain 75% arsenal applied Suncorite with some pitting on bipod legs, scattered flaking, edge wear & light oxidation. Balance of metal retains 90% arsenal rework parkerized finish with some oil staining, light oxidation, scattered edge & operational wear. Bbl. latch & mag door cover appear a bit loose but functional. Action otherwise is functional when hand cycled. Bore is mostly bright with some light pitting & scattered frosting but strong rifling.
