LETTER. Cal. 38 Super. S# 11080. This pistol was shipped to the California Hardware Company in Los Angeles, CA on June 12th, 1931 in a 4 gun shipment. This has an identical configuration of Colt Commercial Government Model pistols with 1911A1 features except in 38 Super. Barrel 5". Matching numbered slide. Fully checkered walnut grips. Bottom of Mainspring housing hand scratched "TR / 4-6-50". MAGS: 1 two tone 9 rd. having good appearance with wear, patina & hand scratched "TR / 4-650 / 230A". UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Colt letter as stated above. CONDITION: frame has over 90% original blue finish with scratches & wear on front strap & noticeable scratch on left side from slide stop assembly, along with scattered light scratches & pinprick oxidation. Slide has approx. 75% original blue with large area of cleaned light patina & pitting on top of slide mixing with cold blue touch up finish. Balance of slides has scattered pinprick patina & light scratches with 1 small spot of worn finish on bottom of slide. Very good grips with couple of small gouges on left panel & scattered flattened diamonds on panels. Barrel has very good original blue with light cycling wear; bore is very good with strong rifling.
