ACTION REVOLVER WITH FACTORY BOX. Cal. 22 LR. S# 22828. Bbl. 6". Officers Model Target double action revolver mfg. by Colt in 1940. Left side of the bbl. is marked with the model and cal. designations, with Colt's mfg. and patent information marked across the top. Left side of the frame is marked with the Rampant Colt logo, as well as Colt's "VP" proof. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall. Frame is mounted with 2-piece Colt silver medallion checkered wood grips. Patridge blade front sight (likely aftermarket blade), with dovetailed adj. square notch rear sight. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: later production factory wood grain box. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original factory finish, exhibiting some areas of light to mild wear and thinning (primarily on edges, as well as scattered on the cyl.), with some superficial handling marks and scattered spots of light surface oxidation present overall. Mirror bore, retaining well defined rifling throughout. Grips show some smoothing, as well as some scattered superficial marks from handling and storage, with the left grip exhibiting a small crack on the butt of the panel that stems from the frame.
