AUTO SHOTGUN. Cal. 16 Ga., 2 9/16". S#. 73046. Bbl. 27 1/2" of Special Steel with factory vent rib and fixed Full choke. Browning patent A-5 square stern recoil operated action. The blued receiver has exquisite Grade IV gold inlay ornamentation consisting of generous coverage of floral and geometric shapes. The inlay work extends to the upper and lower receiver and tang areas as well as the trigger guard bow and breech end of bbl. Gold plated trigger. Cross bolt safety. Beavertail forend and round knob stock of fancy walnut features tear drop points and point pattern checkering. LOP: 14 3/4" to a red ventilated Pachmayr replacement pad. WEIGHT: 8 lbs., 6.6 oz. 1929 mfg. UNATTACHED ACCESORIES: the extremely fine Pre-War Browning luggage case is a highlight of this lot. The 34"x8"x4" case has black leatherette covering and leather covered handle. The fitted gray felt interior has strap closures for the action and bbl. compartments. The lid interior has a 2"x3/4" brass Browning label with the St. Louis, MO. address. The exterior is in very fine condition showing only a few small marks. The gray felt interior is very good showing spots of light discoloration and fading. CONDITION: near excellent as restored. Finely polished metal retains virtually all reblued finish.
