Cal. 16 Ga. / 7.8x57R (or 8x57JR). S# 10799. The Flussstahl 26" barrels have July 1926 German Nitro proofs. Matted top rib has blade front sight & flip up rear sight. Case hardened sculpted boxlock action with deep relief woodland scene engraving having elk on left side & 2 deer on right. Engraving also includes geometric pattern & acanthus scroll throughout. Action features double set triggers, Greener style safety, crossbolt third fastened, side clips, extractors, & top tang rifle barrel selector. Splinter checkered walnut forearm with Deeley release & matching numbered iron. Walnut pistol grip buttstock with hard rubber grip cap, Bavarian cheekpiece, & toeline 3 rd. rifle cartridge trap with sling eye. LOP: 13 3/4" to replacement black Decelerator pad. WEIGHT: 7 lbs., 10 oz. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Letter of prov. states the gun was bought 50 years ago in Essex, Mass. The gun had the skeleton buttplate replaced with a rubber recoil pad. Comes with wooden box containing 2 snap caps, paper on reloading data, 20 fired Win. cases, partial box of Speers 32 cal. 170 gr. .321" flat nose, partial box of 8mm soft nose .321" 170 gr. bullets, partial box of Lyman lead 170 gr. .321" bullets, partial box of 236 gr. Herters .323" soft point. Lyman 32-40/8mm bullet mold, Lyman 8mm GC bullet mold & 2 snap caps. CONDITION: good blue mixing with brown patina shows worn finish around muzzle, marks, & scratches. Action has good vivid case colors in protected areas with balance being a dull gray with areas of patina. Forearm has good finish with deep dents. Buttstock has been lightly sanded & refinished with scattered marks, large crack at top of wrist left side. Replacement pad top screw sits through 1 cartridge trap. Shiny shotgun bores with light pitting forward of chamber. Rifle bore shiny with strong rifling & worn lands. (25-1561/MD). CURIO. $2,000-2500.
