CARBINE. Cal. 32 W.S. S# 853111. Bbl. 20". Model 1894 lever action carbine mfg. by Winchester in 1919. Left side of the bbl. is marked with Winchester's mfg. and patent information, with "-NICKEL STEEL BARREL-/ ESPECIALLY FOR SMOKELESS POWDER", followed by ".32 W.S." marked towards the breech. Bbl. and mag. tube exhibit a blue finish. Plain wood straight grip buttstock and forend appear to have been lightly sanded and revarnished at one time. Buttstock is shy to the buttplate at the toe. Aftermarket brass beaded blade front sight, with Marbles U-notch rear sight. CONDITION: metal components exhibit scattered areas of lacquer, with the receiver, lever, and bbl. bands exhibiting wear through to a mottled gray patina, with areas of light to mild surface oxidation present overall. Bbl. and mag. tube retain fair amounts of their blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning that show through to gray and brown patinas. Bright bore, exhibiting a few small areas of mild pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Wood furniture shows scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable.
