CARBINE. Cal. 30 WCF. S# 753113. Bbl. 20". Model 1894 lever action carbine mfg. by Winchester in 1914. Left side of the bbl. (ahead of the bbl. band) is marked with Winchester's 2-line mfg. and patent information, with the cal. designation marked towards the breech. Upper receiver tang is marked "MODEL 1894" above the Winchester trademark logo. Bbl., mag. tube, hammer, and lever exhibit a blue finish overall. Single band fastened plain wood forearm with sanded and refinished plain wood straight grip buttstock and carbine buttplate. Pinned blade front sight with dovetailed U-notch rear sight. CONDITION: receiver, rear bbl. band, and buttplate have faded to a gray patina, exhibiting scattered superficial handling marks and scratches, as well as scattered spots and patches of light surface oxidation and pitting. Buttplate exhibits scattered patches of dark mild to moderate oxidation. Bbl., mag. tube., hammer, and lever retain large amounts of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning fading to gray patina, with scattered spots and patches of light to mild pitting. Bore exhibits consistent moderate pitting, while retaining good, albeit worn rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Forearm shows scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remains sound. Buttstock is very good, as sanded and revarnished, exhibiting a few superficial marks and small impressions. (26-227/MLW). CURIO. $500-800.
