RIFLE. Cal. 22 LR. S# 43901. Bbl. 28". Model 52A bolt action rifle mfg. by Winchester in 1938. Left side of the bbl. is marked with the model and cal. designations, with Winchester's 2-line mfg. and patent information marked on the right. Right side of the receiver is marked with patent information and the Winchester trademark logo. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the bolt body, which is polished in-the-white. 1-piece plain wood pistol grip buttstock with aftermarket checkered black rubber buttplate. Toeline of butt and underside of bbl. band feature sling swivels. Vaver Co. LTD. adj. aperture rear sight mounted on large rear receiver dovetail slot. Front sight is absent. Top of bbl. has been drilled and tapped with x2 sets of plug screws. Approx. 1/4 of the upper half of the bbl. band has been removed. MAGS: x1 blued steel 5-rd. CONDITION: receiver and bbl. retain the majority of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting some light thinning and wear, as well as some scattered superficial scratches and handling marks. Trigger guard has largely faded to a brown patina. Bbl. band shows scattered spots of flaking and some superficial handling marks. Mirror bore, retaining strong rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Stock shows some superficial marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remains very good overall. PROVENANCE: From the Lifetime Collection of Malcolm Zickler, Ret.
