RING CARBINE. Cal. 30 WCF (30-30). S# 1029745. Bbl. 20". Model 94 lever action saddle ring carbine mfg. by Winchester in 1928. Left side of the bbl. is marked with the model and cal. designations, with Winchester's mfg. information marked on the right. Underside of receiver is stamped with a "7" within a diamond, just forward of the trigger. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall. Plain wood straight grip buttstock with carbine buttplate and plain wood forend. Pinned brass tipped Marbles Sheard No. 6 blade front sight, with dovetailed U-notch flip-up rear sight, and "Climbin Lyman" receiver mounted aperture rear sight. Full length mag., with saddle ring mounted on left side of receiver. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original factory blue finish, showing areas of wear and thinning that is fading to gray and brown patinas, scattered superficial handling marks, as well as scattered spots/areas of light to mild surface level pitting, primarily on the receiver and lever. Mirror bore, retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Wood furniture shows scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable. PROVENANCE: The Esteemed Norm Greenberg Collection. (25-4206/MLW).
