PISTOL. Cal. 22 LR. S# MT10608. Bbl 6 5/8". Woodsman Match Target manufactured by Colt in 1940. The left side of the barrel is stamped "MATCH/ (BULLSEYE)/ TARGET", with Colt's address and patent information across the top. Left side of frame is stamped "THE WOODSMAN", with "COLT" followed by the caliber designation and the Rampant Colt logo stamped on the left side of the receiver. Metal components exhibit a blued finish, with the frame being mounted with a 1 piece Colt silver medallion checkered walnut wrap around grip. Patridge front sight, with adjustable square notch rear sight. MAGS: 1 10 rnd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Colt factory letter indicating that this example was the sole pistol shipped to Joseph Swingle in Tariffville, CN on March 3rd, 1941. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original factory blued finish, exhibiting areas of edge wear, as well as areas of freckling overall. Mirror bore, exhibiting good rifling throughout. Grip shows some scattered marks and minor impressions from storage and handling, but otherwise is very good overall. (23-1766/MLW). CURIO. $800-1,200.
