This rifle, produced in 1916, has the NRA & flaming bomb markings on the forward end of the trigger guard. Blade front sight w/ blued steel issue type sight cover. Bolt w/ straight down handle has small gas escape hole. All milled furniture including fine checkered trap buttplate. The stock w/ grasping grooves, has a crisp boxed JSA on the left over the trigger guard. It is also marked w/ an encircled script "P" proof under grip & a tiny "13" assembly no. Good quality military style tan leather sling. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: nickel plated oiler in butt. CONDITION: stock set has nice original finish w/ the scattered small handling marks, showing very careful use. Metal retains 85% of its blued finish w/ light wear. Notable area of wear on left side of upper band. Bore is shiny. Lands show the moderate wear expected from long careful use. (24-7100/RW). CURIO. $1,200-1,800.
