PRINT OF THE INTERNATIONAL RIFLE MATCH AT CREEDMOOR. This print, drawn by A.B. Frost, shows the firing line on the second day of the match, detailing the shooters in their various positions. Five countries participated: America, Canada, Australia, Scotland & Ireland. This is a very nicely detailed depiction of the sport nationally prominent in this period. The print is matted & framed in walnut burl veneer measuring 22" by 28". The back is paper covered & is tagged "Merwin's art shop, 286 Yacht street, New Haven, CT. 06511". CONDITION: the print has a very good appearance w/ its slightly subdued coloration. There is a small tear in the top center at the area that the two pages would have been folded. The matting is professionally done. The frame is in good condition w/ slightly misaligned corners & tiny spots of missing veneer at the corner points. PROVENANCE: letter dated February 17, 2025 "To whom it may concern, The lot consists of a framed print from Harper's Ferry magazine illustrating the Great International Rifle Match at Creedmoor. Once owned by the late Lt. Col. William S. Brophy (Ret). Thank you. Best regards, Gail Brophy Barry". (02-24004/RW). NON-GUN. $200-400.
