RIFLE. Cal 7.62x54r. S #PS9059. 29" Bbl. import marked on left side. Bolt and floorplate are crudely renumbered matching, buttplate is mismatched. Top of Bbl. has Tula star, 1941 date S # with importer translated prefix and Finnish "D" marking. Left of Bbl. has Finnish boxed "S.A." marking. 1941 Tula rifles are very hard to find, as Tula was focused on SVT-40 and Maxim production that year. However some Tula barrels were assembled at the Izhevsk plant that year and it is probable this rifle was one of them. Straight bolt handle. Rear sight graduated to 2000 meters. Protected globe front sight. Cleaning rod is present. Wartime sling slots without metal inserts. Hardwood stock with faint Izhevsk roundel. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: 91/30 spike bayonet and leather scabbard. Bayonet is numbered "2471". CONDITION: sanded hardwood stock has an armorer patch repair on both sides of the front and some scattered handling marks. Bolt was cleaned long ago with a grind mark area where numbers were restamped. Blued surfaces retain 70% original blue with perhaps some touched-up areas, scattered fading and some silvering on buttplate. Good shiny bore with some minor pitting. (22-2333/MJC). CURIO. $100-200.
